If Kob Inn says they are right on the beachfront, they mean it. The hotel room furthest away from the sea is a short 100 m stroll from the beach at Quigney, so the sound of the waves will lull you to sleep at night.
Kob Inn is situated at the mouth of the Qora River and is perfect for a family holiday on the Wild Coast of South Africa’s Eastern Cape Province in the former Transkei.
The guest rooms are spacious and all are ensuite and cater for couples or families. The emphasis is on having a relaxing holiday, so order one of their picnic hampers and seek out a good spot to enjoy the peace.
Kob Inn is famous for their seafood and fish dishes: on Saturday evenings they offer a seafood banquet, while a mini seafood dinner is offered on Wednesday. The restaurant and bar at the Kob Inn are right on the rocks with a breathtaking view of the crashing waves.
Kob Inn is the starting point of the famous Wild Coast Meander. The hotel offers guided quad bike trails, but you can also hire a mountain bike and explore the area on your own. There are many opportunities for fishing (both sea fishing and fishing from the Qora River) and you can buy bait from the reception desk at Kob Inn.
The area is teeming with birds, small mammals and beautiful plants and the best way to explore this is to do the 6 km hike to Mazeppa Bay. There is also a well-marked trail in the forest near the Kob Inn. You can also hire a boat at the reception desk to explore the Qora River – you will be able to venture 4 km inland.
Other facilities at Kob Inn on the Wild Coast include a tennis court, pool, table tennis, billard table, pool table, volley ball, trampoline, satellite TV and babysitting services.

Hole in the Wall Hotel offers both hotel style accommodation as well as self-catering ( self contained ) accommodation near Coffee Bay and Ntaba River Lodge in Port St Johns. A more upmarket choice might be Umngazi River Lodge on the banks of the Umngazi River near Port St Johns which is the only more luxurious hotel than Kob Inn along the Wildcoast.
